On August 11, 2018. Surrounded by family at Ashburton Hospital. In her 85^th year. Dearly loved wife of Ron for over 62 years. Treasured Mum and mother in law of Neil and Janeen, Anne and Alan Copland, Sue, Maree and Martin Bush, Barry and Ceilidh, and James and Tracy. Adored and much loved Nana Shirley of Karl and Courtney, Lana and Aaron, Rachel and Leighton, Hugh, and George; Sonya and Greg, Belinda and Grant, Thomas and Claire, and Selina;  Emma, and Kelsey; Angus, Fraser, Isla, and Campbell; Josh and Kate, Kees, Ben, Simon and Amanda, Libby and her seven great grandchildren.

On August 9, 2018. Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Radius Millstream Resthome, Ashburton. In his 92^nd year. Leaving behind his beloved wife Patricia Mary, having just had their 59^th Wedding Anniversary and also leaving his darling children Susan (Oregon), Bruce (Methven) and Neil (Oregon) and their respective families Richie, Mark, Jack, Dean, and Maxine; Linda, Janna, Nicole, Caleb, Mia, and Liam; Deidre, Lily, and  Kellen; and great grandad of Jaidon and Quin. Loved big brother of Maureen and the late Barney Carrell (London). A loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews in London. Loved brother in law and uncle of the Brown side of the family (Queenstown). On August 8, 2018. Passed away peacefully at home with family and friends. Aged 73 years. Beloved uncle of Laureen, Michael and Katrina, and great uncle to Rebekah, Callum, and Garth. Much loved loyal and steadfast friend to many. Our grateful thanks to Doctors P Holdaway and M Wootton the Ashburton Hospital Palliative Care and district nursing staff. According to Neil’s wishes a private cremation has been held and a private service will be held at later date.

Loved sister and sister and sister in law of the late Struan and Parry Broomhall (Rimu), the late Marjorie and Gordon Simms (Invercargill), and the late Mary and Gordon Shand (Ashburton). Much loved Aunty of Aldyth and David Bond (Ashburton), Ray and Sue Simms (Queenstown), Stan and the late Bev Simms (Alexandra) and Stuart Shand (Ashburton and loved great Aunt and great great Aunt of all her  nieces and nephews.
