“Big John” -25/6/1949 – 17/7/2026.  Big John died peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on 17 July, with his dearly loved wife, Dawn, by his side. Much loved father of Ben and Sarah; Todd; Mel and Blair Horrell, and loved Pa of Mia, Bella, Lucy and Maddy; Freddy and Sadie; Quinn and Elliot.  Messages to the Grieve family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740. A casual Memorial service to celebrate Big John’s life will be held at the Allenton Rugby Club, Melrose Road, Ashburton, on Friday 24 July at 3pm. It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Barbara, in Ashburton, on July 7, 2026, aged 70. Much loved wife of Bill, cherished mother and mother-in-law of Lisa and Jorgen, Richard and Lisa, Lauren and Rafe, Ashleigh and Sam. Proud grandmother of her 7 grandchildren. Peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on Saturday July 4, 2026. Aged 57 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Philip. Devoted and cherished Mum of Hailey and partner Sam Will, and Sam.
