peacefully on Thursday July 16, 2026, in his 87th year. Beloved son of the late George and Myrtle Baudinet. Elder brother of the late Joanna, and much loved father and grandfather., Love uncle of Phillip and Chris Marriott. In keeping with Paul’s wishes, a private cremation has been held. “ We can no longer see you with our eyes, but we will feel you in our hearts forever.”

GRIEVE John Russell

“Big John” -25/6/1949 – 17/7/2026. Big John died peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on 17 July, with his dearly loved wife, Dawn, by his side. Much loved father of Ben and Sarah; Todd; Mel and Blair Horrell, and loved Pa of Mia, Bella, Lucy and Maddy; Freddy and Sadie; Quinn and Elliot. A casual Memorial service to celebrate Big John’s life will be held at the Allenton Rugby Club, Melrose Road, Ashburton, on Friday 24 July at 3pm. In true Big John style, ties are strictly optional and preferably not worn at all. Come as you are, raise a glass, and celebrate the big man himself.

on July 11, 2026. It is with great sadness that we notify the passing of our dear Mum Rona, at Rosebank Lifecare, Ashburton, with family members at her side. Aged 86 years. Cherished wife of the late Stuart and loved mother and mother in law of Karen and the late Gavin Sinclair, Carol and Noel Stafford, Riki and Sally, and the late Barry. KIRK, Barbara Joan

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Barbara, in Ashburton, on July 7, 2026, aged 70. Much loved wife of Bill, cherished mother and mother-in-law of Lisa and Jorgen, Richard and Lisa, Lauren and Rafe, Ashleigh and Sam. Proud grandmother of her 7 grandchildren. SAMPSON, Jane Phyllis

Passed peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on Monday July 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Much loved partner of Darrell Gordon. Caring Mum of Chelsea, and Heath and cherished and cool Nana of Avalin, Bjorn, and Emmett. Loved sister and best friend of Wendy, and Kelly. TURNER, Susan Devoy (Nee Baxter)

Peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on Saturday July 4, 2026. Aged 57 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Philip. Devoted and cherished Mum of Hailey and partner Sam Will, and Sam. Loved daughter of the late Allan and the late Devoy Baxter. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of David and Sheryl, Warrick and Debbie, and Larry and Kirsten and a loved aunty. Passed away on July 4, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, at Ashburton. Aged 49 years. Treasured partner and soul mate of Anita. Dearly loved and devoted dad to Cade, Arlyn, and Flynn and caring stepdad to Emily and Annabelle. Dearly loved son of June and Barry and friend and brother of Jayne. Always in our heart.
