BENFELL, Janet Helen on 9 September 2020

Peacefully at Rosebank, Ashburton. Loved wife of the late Dave, dearly loved mother of David (deceased), Jim, Sue, Al and Alyson, Max and Tanya.  Grandmother of Camilla, Morgan, Jay, Tony, Sara, Jess, and Emma.  Great Grandmother of Shai, and Quinn.  Eldest daughter of the late Clarrie and Mavis Atkinson. Sister of Dot, Bev, Colin (all deceased) and Lois, and loved Auntie of all her nieces and nephews.  Special thanks to the staff at Rosebank and to Dr Charlotte Cox. Passed away peacefully, at Ashburton. Dearly loved wife of John.  Much loved mother and mother in law of David and Karina (Nelson), Sue and the late Ant Newton, and the late Karen, and Warwick McCarthy. Loved Nana of Bevan, Robert, and Katie; and Brooke.  Loved great Nana of Izzy, Aston, and Xander. LYNN Vicki Ann on 22 August, 2020.

PITHIE, Laurence James (Laurie) on August 23, 2020.

Peacefully at Ashburton Hospital, in his 89th year.  Dearly loved husband and best friend of Kathie.  Much loved father, father-in-law and Grandad of Pam and Tim Eaden, Ashleigh and Darcy, and Brad; Leanne and Dennis Mably, Ben and Tania, and Mark and Ashley; Raewyn and Stu Gray, Todd, Cameron and Bailey; Kelvyn and Rachel, Hannah and Sam.  He will be dearly missed.  Thank you to Dr Sparks and the staff of AAU and Ward 1 of Ashburton Hospital for their loving care of Laurie.   Messages to the Pithie Family, C/- PO Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  At Laurie’s request a private service has been held.

Peacefully at home, in Nelson.  Aged 88 years. Loving husband of the late Pamelene and father of Andrea and Glenn Clarke (Whitsundays, QLD) Martin and Janet (Methven) and Nick and Ethel (Sydney). Loved Grandad of Ashleigh, Kirby, and Mitchell; Heidi, and Sam; John, Jacob, and Tom. Loved brother in law of Joy and Murray Isaacs, Jean and Graham Richards, the late Robert, and Ann Woodham and a loved Uncle of all his nieces and nephews. HATHAWAY Graeme David on August 16, 2020.

Peacefully at home, Ashburton, aged 95 years.  Dearly loved wife of the late Ivan.  Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Jan and Ken Wheeler (Moeraki), Helen (Ashburton), David and Julie (Pleasant Point), Andrew and Maria (Invercargill).  Loved Grandmother of Oscar, Louis, and Ingrid, and loved sister of Hilda Gray (Ashburton).  Messages to the Patterson Family, C/- PO Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  Ethel’s Funeral Service will be held at Hakatere Presbyterian Parish Church, cnr Grahams Road and Thompson Street, Tinwald, Ashburton on Thursday 20 August, commencing at 1.30pm, followed by interment at the Papakaio Cemetery, Oamaru, on Friday 21 August at 1pm.  All relatives and those who knew Ethel well over the years are welcome to attend both services.
