WAITERE, Carol Lystra (nēe Rose)

After a hard-fought battle, Gran passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 19 August 2026.  She faced it with strength and courage, and after precious time with her loved ones, she was ready to rest.  Through it all, her laughter and stories brought light to her journey.  Born on 28 December 1944, Carol lived a life filled with great yarns, laughter and treasured memories.  Carol was the youngest daughter of the late Iris and Sandy Rose, and a much-loved mother and mother-in-law to Adrian, Matrena and Wayne, and the late Kararaina.  Dear sister of Doreen and Brian, and the late Ian, Anne and Donald.  A much-loved Aunty to her many nieces and nephews.  Carol’s family would like to acknowledge her nephew Allan, with heartfelt gratitude for his continual love, care and support.  A cherished Gran to Amy-Lee, Krystal, Ashley, Brittany, Clayton, Kered, Kreed and Bella, and a proud Great-Gran to her great-grandchildren.  In Gran’s words “ke te pai!”  Messages to the Waitere family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  A private cremation has been held.

peacefully on August 18, 2026, at Radius Millstream, Ashburton, surrounded by his family, aged 93 years.  Dearly loved husband of the late Pat.  Much loved and treasured father and father-in-law of Jocelyn and John Hurley, and Sharon and Murray McManus.  Special Grandad of Chris and Claire, Phil and Jess; Tracey and Nathan, Steven, and the late Amanda, and great Grandad of Khloe, Amber, Alex, Madison, Tyler and Axel. At Methven Central Care Home on Tuesday August 18, 2026. Aged 95 years. Loved wife of the late Alan Inch. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Wayne and Robyn, and Kelvin and Sharon. Loved Grandma and great-Grandma of Kyle and Megan, Ryan and Rachael, and Amelia. Loved only daughter of the late Arthur and Myrtle Saunders and loved sister and sister-in-law of Mervyn and Isabel, Royce and Sybil, Des and Jean, Vern and Marion, Derrick and Peggy, Trevor and Jean, and Ian and Fay (all deceased). HOLLOWAY Brian

(Regiment: RA -Gnr 23801814) – on August 14th 2026.  Passed peacefully, surrounded by loving family, aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of Sandra. Loved and respected Dad and father-in-law of Lesley & Philip, Debbie & Steve and Alan. Much loved Grandad to Letitia, Aimee, Kirsten, Melissa, Murran, Skye, Emma and Sarah, and adored great-Grandad of 18. Loved brother-in-law to Rita and Rick, and his nephews and nieces. Special thanks to Ward 2, Ashburton Hospital and staff at Tuarangi Home who respectfully cared for Brian in his final weeks, and to the ‘Home based support services’ over the past seven months. Brian’s Memorial service will be held in Our Chapel, Cnr East and Cox Streets, Ashburton on Saturday 22nd August commencing at 11.00am.

passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, at Ashburton Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.  Dear wife of Philip. Loved Mum of Doug and Jaclyn, Luke and Gemma, and William. FRIEND Karen Margaret (Aka Dawn)

passed away after a brave and courageous battle on Friday, 7 August, 2026, at Ashburton Hospital, surrounded by loving family and friends.  Loved partner of Avon, cherished daughter of Ian and Heather, sister and sister in law of Dave and Bern, Geoff and Karen.  Loved Aunty and treasured friend and colleague to many.  The family would like to sincerely thank medical/oncology/District Nursing staff for their care & support allowing Dawn to be able to stay at home as long as she could.  Messages to the Friend family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  In keeping with Dawn’s wishes a private cremation has been held.
