We are heartbroken to say that Douglas passed away at 12.15 pm on Wednesday 2nd  September 2026. Beloved husband to Bjorg. Father to Kristin, and Alasdair and Grandad to Max and Zoe. HAYMAN Lorna Margaret (nee Cross)

on September 8, 2026, peacefully at Lister Home, Waimate. In her 90th year.  Dearly loved wife of the late Don.  Much loved mother and mother in law of Grant and Robynne (Waimate), and Barry and Beth (Ashburton).  Adored and loved Nana of Lilee and Steve, Matt and Abbey, and Esther. Loving great-Nana of Kobe, Isla, and Meadow; Elliot and Blake; and Alby, and Zaylen.  Loved sister and sister in law of Audrey and the late Bill Charteris, the late Shirley Rogers, the late Linda Cross, Maureen and the late Ivan Cross, the late Valmai Cross, and Rosemary and the late Trevor Gibson. HUNT Charles Leonard (Len)

Len passed away at Tuarangi Home, Ashburton on Monday September 7, 2026, with his family at his side.  He was 84, and spent his life working with bees.  Loved husband of Allison for 61 years. Loved father and father in law of Perry and Linda, and Hadyn and Tara.  Grandfather to Kieran and Abbey, Gareth and JJ, Ashlee, Kiefer and Awatea, Riley and Daniel, and great-grandfather of Kaiārahi.  Messages to the Hunt family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.    Thank you to the staff at Radius Millstream and Tuarangi Home, for helping care for Len in the past three years. “Our hive won’t be the same without him”. Unexpectedly, at home, in Ashburton on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Aged 79 years. Treasured husband of Stephanie. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of James, Michael and Neresa, Anna and Wayne, Catherine and Barnaby, Chris and Kym, and Peter and Sophie. Adored Poppa Joe of Ada, and Olive; Amelia, Emma, and Charlotte; Julia, Sarah, and Johnny; Gabriel, and Patrick; and Abigail. Loved son of the late Ralph and Catherine and brother and brother-in-law of John and Catherine, and Mary and Bill. Loved brother-in-law of Terry and Kathy Day, Richard and Jan Day, and Liz and Nick Courtney. A loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. Peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on August 27, 2026. Aged 87 years. A dearly loved husband, father, father-in-law, grandad, and great-grandad. Thanks to Hospice Mid Canterbury and St John for their care and support and special acknowledgement to Dr Malcolm Wootton and the Home Support team who supported Dennis and allowed him to stay at home for as long as possible. Thanks also to other hospital based staff involved in Dennis’ care over the last weeks.
