SUTTON Leonard James (Always Len)
of Rakaia (Formerly Avonside), on October 12, 2025, peacefully at Ashburton Hospital, aged 88 years. Len was a loved father of Suzanne Sutton-Cummings, Philip, Warwick, and Graeme Sutton. Len was a treasured husband and best friend of Colleen. He was an appreciated and well liked step-father ‘Len’ of Philippa (Pip), Bronwyn, Cameron, Fleur, Euan, and Duncan, and their partners. A precious Poppie, Grandad and great-Grandad to his blended family. Heartfelt thanks to Dr Sue Fowlie and her staff at the Rakaia Medical Centre, to the Rakaia Fire Brigade volunteers, the St John Ambulance and Ashburton Hospital. Thanks also to the District nurses and Healthcare support and the Oncology Dept., Christchurch Hospital. The family are enormously grateful for all the support and empathy shown. Len fought a good fight. He has put down his tools for the last time and the shed is silent. A private funeral will be held.
