EDGAR, Donald Charles Ian: October 12, 2018

On October 12, 2018, at Christchurch Hospital. Aged 89 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Chloe. RUSSELL, George Peter: October 15, 2018

On October 15, 2018 at Radius Millstream, Ashburton, surrounded by his loving family. Aged 63 years. Dearly loved husband of Lynda. Much loved father and father in law of Christina and Glen, and Anne- Maree. Adored Poppy of Samantha, Damian, Phoenix, Lachie, and Hunter. Loved brother of Monica, Jan, and Lyn. A service to celebrate George’s life will be held at our Chapel Cnr East and Cox Streets, Ashburton on Thursday October 18, commencing at 11.00am. Followed by private cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium.

THOMAS, Hazel Jean: (nee Scott) 17 January 1927 – October 10, 2018

Passed away peacefully in her 92nd year, with family by her side, at Radius Millstream, Ashburton.  Dearly loved wife of the late Norman Thomas, loved mother and mother-in-law of John and Lettie, Graham and Jane, Elizabeth and John, and Grandma to her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Special mention to Dr Katie Williamson and the staff at Radius Millsteam for their care of Hazel.  In keeping with Hazel’s wishes a private funeral was held on Saturday 13 October.

TATE, John Albert: (Spud)

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of John on Friday October 5, 2018. John passed away at home in Hororata, aged 86. John was the beloved husband and soulmate of Jan, treasured and devoted Dad and father in law of Carol and Ross Chalmers, Colleen and Geoff Scott (Waitahuna) and dearly loved grandad and mentor to Kelly, Gregory, Kimberley, Sam, and Aidan. A special thank you to Bernard Egan, Dr Cox, St John Ambulance Service, Darfield Fire Brigade, Constable Hamish Caird and Paterson’s Funeral Services for their wonderful care of John.

Adored wee brother of Coby, Caitlin, and twin brother of Cameron. Cherished grandson of Kathy and Wellsy and the late Quentin Forward, Denise Monk and Maurice Jordan and the late Ron Monk. Loved nephew of Daniel and Chris, Kylie, Elesha and their families. On October 8, 2018. Suddenly at Christchurch Hospital, aged 86 years. Loved husband of Marie. Loved father, father in law and Nev of Paul and Debbs, Katie and Chris, Sean, and Jack, and Rosemary; Jane and Willem, and Josh, and Cameron van Mierlo: Lynn and Stu; and great grandad Nev of Emily and Ryan. Loved brother and brother in law of Margaret and Gordon, Eric and Noeline,  (all deceased) Winsome and the late Feije, Linda and Selwyn, (both deceased) the late Ngaire, and Rex. Brother in law of the late Colin, and Ettie, Dulcie and the late Bernie, Alisa and the late Robin and their families. Messages to Adams Family 24 Jordan Avenue, Ashburton 7700. JOHNSTON, Carol May: October 6, 2018

 

On October 6, 2018 at Christchurch ICU, surrounded by family, after a short illness.  Loved youngest daughter of the late Erma and Sidney Sewell.  Loved sister of Brenda Rendall (Dunedin), Allan Sewell (Rolleston) and the late Roger Sewell (Aust).  Loved Aunty of Bruce Rendall and Rachel Ducker (Christchurch), Martin and Helen Rendall (Alexandra), Katrina Moore (Christchurch), and Paula and Jason Clark (Cromwell).  Loved and supported by Murray for 14 years.  Messages to c/- 165 Trevors Road, Ashburton 7700.  A t Carol’s request a private cremation has been held.  A family Memorial will be held at a later date.

STEAD Alan Walter 15.5.36 – 9.10.2018

It  is with sadness that Rose and his son Roger announce that Alan (Steadly) passed away suddenly but peacefully at home. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Rose and respected Steadly of her children Bruce Heywood, Murray Heywood, Robyn Stockdale and their partners and families. Beloved grandfather to Hayley, Kurt, Todd, Aimee, Scott, Kimberley, Jordan Charlotte, Ryan, Catherine, and Zac and loved Poppa to all his great grandchildren.
