MONTGOMERY Lorraine Dorothy, on March 2nd, 2021

Passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2021 at Ashburton Hospital, in her 91st year.  Loved wife of the late Kelvin for 68 years. Loved mother, mother in law and friend of Karen and Danny Crequer, Leanne Chisnall and Barb Sheard.  Loved Gran of Nicola and Carl, Philippa and Shannon; Kelly and Nigel, Simon and Lyndall.  Loved great Gran of Taylor, Travis; Edwin, Asher and Indie.  Messages to the Montgomery family c/- P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740. McDONNELL Margaret Mary (Marg), on March 1, 2021

peacefully in her sleep at home, Ashburton. Aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Paddy. Loved mother and mother in law of Simon and Sheilena,  Jane and Mark, and the late Steve. A celebration of Marg’s life will be held in our Chapel, corner East & Cox Streets, Ashburton on Friday March 5 commencing at 2.00pm. Followed by cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium.

WILKIE John Alexander, on February 27, 2021

 8 April 1940 – 27 February 2021. He tramped his beloved hills, trapped and released his beloved eels, fought for the waterways, looked after Mother Earth, now he in turn will return to his roots. His mana will prevail. Loved husband of Gloria (deceased). Special and much loved Pop of Stevien and Tarn. Wonderful brother of Bev (deceased), Sally and Noel, Sylv and Don, Eddie and Anne, and Al and Tia. Loved and loving uncle of Sonya, Nichola, Tracey, Gerald, Janelle, Kell, Ricki, Jade, Alan, and Shane and their respective partners. And a loved great uncle. The whanau would like to acknowledge his amazing support network for their friendships and aroha through John’s environmental passions and his final days. Special mention goes to his Rangitata family, who have always been there for him. To all the people who have loved and befriended John over the years, we thank you so much. Passed away unexpectedly at Ashburton, aged 62 years.  Dearly loved wife of Kevin.  Loved eldest daughter of the late Evelyn and Bill Thornton.  Much loved sister and sister in law of Sandra and Bruce Redmond, and Barry and Leigh Thornton.  Special auntie of Murray and Gemma, Gary and Justine; Jenna and Laura, Sam and Shalom, the late Thomas, and Charlotte, and great auntie of William, Lily, and Elsie.  Messages to the Hayton family 810 Mainwarings Road, RD 11 Rakaia. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, the Memorial service for Carol which was to be held on Tuesday March 2, 2021 will now be postponed to a later date.

Peacefully at Tuarangi Home, Ashburton.  Aged 88 years.  Loved son of the late Frank and Edith.  Loved brother and brother in law of Pat and the late Harry Walls, Kevin and Tari, Monica, and the late Johnny. Much loved Mum of Dale, Kent and Robyn, Tracy and Michael, Kim and Murray, Craig and Sonia, Wade and Vanessa, and Trudi and Richard.  Loved ‘Ma’, ‘Mazza’, and ‘Bishop’ of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. BLUETT Barrett Maxwell (Barry) on February 21, 2021

Passed away at the Ashburton Hospital on Sunday February 21, 2021.  Aged 84 years.  Dearly loved husband of the late Rose.  Loving Dad and father in law of Craig and Wendy (Blenheim), and Julie (Ashburton). Treasured Grandad Barry of Timothy and Marcel, Andrew, Daniel and Kurt. Loved brother and brother in law of Jill and Ken Gillespie, loved brother in law of Peter and Judy Crawford, the late John, and Anne Crawford  and loved uncle of Kristen, John, and Barry; Carol and Paul.  Messages to the Bluett family c/- P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  The family would like to thank the staff of Eastfield Medical Centre, the Ashburton Hospital and the Pakeke Lions for  the thoughtful and compassionate care given to Barry.
