Passed away peacefully at Terrace View Retirement Village, Ashburton, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved wife of the late John (Jack) Thomson and loved mother and mother in law of John and Lyn, Sally and David Brydie, Mark and Elspeth, and Willie and Hayley. Adored daughter of the late Margaret and Robert Swapp and loved sister of the late Eric Swapp and the late Margaret Blane. Adored Granny to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special mention to Terrace View Retirement Village staff, Tinwald Medical Centre and Dr Iain Melton (Christchurch Heart Group) for their wonderful care of Irene. A service to celebrate Irene’s life will be held in our Chapel cnr East and Cox Street, Ashburton on Thursday March 14 commencing at 1pm, followed by a private interment.
