McDOUGALL Margaret Mary

On August 9, 2025, at Ashburton, aged 86 years. “Now at Peace”.  Dearly loved and treasured wife of the late Alan.  Much loved mother and mother in law of Mary and Tony MacFarlane, Leen and Raymond Bell, John and April, and Dean and Nicola.  Much loved Nana of Kim, and Jade; Cory and Tammy, Bradley and Sarah; Jared and Sailor, and Hannah and Jack. IMMS Warren Robert

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Warren Robert Imms, who passed away peacefully at Ashburton Hospital on 28 July 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Cherished and devoted husband of Meeling. Treasured father of Dianna and Dion Smith, Amanda and Tom Kerekere, and Angelique and Stefan Protheroe. Much‑loved grandfather of Jordan, and Bailey Imms‑Protheroe, and Rhys, and Aaliyah Kerekere. Beloved brother of Maxine and Robert Hayson, Robyn and Tony Grant. A dearly loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews. A gentle soul and lifelong friend, Warren will be forever remembered and deeply missed. A farewell was held at Paterson’s Funeral Home, Ashburton, on 31 July 2025. The family extend heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of Terrace View Rest Home, Ward 1 Ashburton Hospital, and Paterson’s Funeral Home for their kindness and support. “Forever in our hearts, until we meet again.”

HOBSON Elspeth May , known as Elma ( Nee Buick

On July 29, 2025, peacefully at the Bellevue in Christchurch, aged 97 years. Dearly loved by her late husband George. Loved and adored mother and mother in law to Heather and Noel Kirkwood ( Auckland), Robert and Jenny Hobson ( Hawkes Bay), Elspeth Hobson and Jonathan Macleod ( Sydney) and Trevor and Andrea Hobson ( Te Pirita). Very special Granny to Henry and Monique, Lucy, Angus and Kim, Sarah and Ronan, Ben and Mel,  William  and Heidi, Fergus and Mali and Roderick, Thomas and Chloe, Edward and Kate, Samuel and Ella, Albert and Maddy .Great grandmother to Indi, Freya, Allie and Jack, Isabel and James, Eden and Max, Logan, Wilbur and Florence Much loved sister of Nancy Callaghan, the late Shirley  Quantock and  brothers Nix and Max  Buick. MOORE Joan Marie

Peacefully on July 28, 2025,  at Terrace View Retirement Village, Ashburton aged 94 years.  Loved wife of Bob (dec 2018) and mother and mother in law of Alastair and Madge, and Barbara.  Loved grandmother of Rob, Julia and great grandson Stan. A memorial service will be held at a future date to be advised.

LILLEY Allan Walter James

On July 22, 2025, aged 83 years. Much loved husband and soulmate of the late Kathryn. Dearly loved father and father in law of Pauline and Andrew Smythe, Susan and Jonathan Moore, and Stew. CAMPBELL Malcolm Ross,

On July 9, 2025, peacefully at Ashburton Hospital, aged 89 years.  Loved by all his family and friends.  Messages to the Campbell family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  At Malcolm’s request, a private family service has been held.

STEWART Errol Thomas, on July 17, 2025

Peacefully at Radius Millstream, Ashburton. Aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Jennifer. Loved father and father in law of John and Clare, Paul and Kelly and much loved Grandad of Megan; Olivia and Matt, and Clark. Messages to the Stewart family P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740. A Memorial service for Errol will be held at St David’s Union Church, Allen’s Road, Ashburton Wednesday July, 23, commencing at 2.00pm.

TEALE Ellen (Nell) (nee Small)

On July 10, 2025, aged 99 years, 2 weeks short of her 100th birthday. Loved wife of the late Jim.  Loved mother and mother in law of Hazel and Allan Mitchell, and the late Malcolm.  Proud grandmother of Malcolm and Sally (Perth), Kristeen and John, and Stuart and Carol.  Great- grandmother of Brooke, and Tim, Rebecca, and Cameron, Hamish, and their partners.  Great-great-grandmother of wee Otis.  Messages to Nell’s family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  A special thank you to the carers at Coldstream Lifecare, and Dr Lues, for their loving care of Nell.  In keeping with Nell’s wishes a private cremation has been held.

 

DUFF Donald Robert (Donny)

Passed away peacefully at Methven House on Saturday July 12, 2025, after a short illness, in his 88th year. Dearly loved and adored husband of Nola for 67 years . Dearly loved and cherished father, and father in law Robin and Janine, Aileen and Grant Henderson, and Linda.  Loved Grandad Donny of Nathan and Tania, Chloe and Cameron, Bridget, and Amy; Mark, Nicola and Josh, and Philly and Adam; Hayden and Inara, and Courtney and Billy, and great-Grandad Donny of Jonathan, Lucas, Ruby, and Nixon; Jamie, Frankie, and Darcy; Cooper, Madelyn, and Rhylee.  Fun loving brother, brother in law and uncle to his many nieces and nephews. A friend to many. Messages to the Duff family, P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740.  Nola and family would sincerely like to thank all the staff at Methven House for their love, care and compassion of Don whilst in their care over the last 11 months.  Thank you also to the staff at the Methven Medical Centre.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Methven Care Trust would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of Donny’s life will be held at St John’s Presbyterian Church, Jackson Street, Methven on Wednesday July 16, commencing at 11.30am, followed by private cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium.

LAIRD Bernice Robin,

 On July 11, 2025, suddenly at home, Ashburton. Aged 74 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Geoff. Loving stepmother of Julie, and Chris. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of Bernard and Monika Wells. Bernice will be sadly missed by her many friends. Messages to the Laird family PO Box 472, Ashburton 7740.
